ABOUT.
Who writes this. Why it exists.
I'm Andri— a Reykjavík security engineer currently working as Technical Success Manager at Aftra. I've spent two decades across Windows, Linux, macOS, and the last decade leaning hard into security and compliance.
This blog is where I write down the stuff I keep explaining in hallways, DMs, and late-night support chats. Practical. Opinionated. No fear-mongering, no affiliate tax, no corporate boilerplate.
Why this blog?
Most tech advice is either too technical for regular people, or it's sensationalized fear-mongering designed to sell products. This blog exists to bridge that gap — practical, no-nonsense writing on:
- Cybersecurity — real security advice for small businesses and individuals, without the corporate jargon
- Digital privacy — understanding surveillance, protecting your data, and knowing your rights
- AI tools — making AI useful for non-technical people without the hype cycle
My day job
I work as Technical Success Manager at a cybersecurity company (Aftra), helping organizations improve their security posture. I'm an ISO 27001 and ISO 42001 Lead Auditor — which mostly means I've seen how security works (and fails) across a lot of different environments.
